wiper motor

I have a 93 p30 chassis motorhome. The left side windshield wiper quit working but the other side still works.I thought at first it was probably a linkage. After looking i noticed it had a motor for each wiper so i am thinking now it is the motor. The owner that had the vehicle before me has done something to them i think because there are a block of wood underneath each wiper motor and screwed down. The screws have come loose and when i turn the wipers on the whole assy will rock back and forth.Anyway that is another issue and will have to be addressed.I wont to test the motor to see if it is getting power before replacing it.Can someone give me a detailed description on how to go about this.

  • There must be a power wire going to it. Disconnect it and measure the voltage from the wire to ground. Should be 12 volts. Remember to turn on the wipers for the measurement!

Could be something simple like the brushes or a dirty commutator.

If the assembly is rocking back and forth then it would seem the motor is working.

It has a motor n each wiper. The right side motor seems to work but the left side motor doesnt.I won to check to see if the motor is getting power to it before attempting to change it but i dont know how.
