Mex makes a good point about the context where small losses matter. I think you can be a bit more sloppy when camping for a couple weeks in an RV, but still, you don't want to waste good solar coming in.
PT, you are the one who says voltage drop array-controller does not matter for PWM 12v, but it does matter a lot for MPPT 24v.
I was getting my 12.x amps Isc of the two 100w panels out there on the contraption about 30 ft away, showing on the Trimetric at the batteries.
This is all about worrying if I just put the 230w in place where those two 100s were, and use the same wiring (at least #8, mostly fatter) if that will still work. I would also like to know the thinnest wire I can get away with in case I change my wiring lash-up.
It seems the amps to consider is now the 7.67 Imp to compare with the 12.x amps I was running on those wires before, and not 16-20a--which could be on the controller-battery side, and is ok for that.)
