That's interesting. I have a good length of that high quality speaker wire but it appears to be #12. Once I get where I can try things out again, I suppose I could try that for comparison with my other wiring collection mentioned above, before I bought anything new.
With PWM, once you aim the panels where you should be getting max amps (proven by getting Isc at the panel junction box) and you don't see those amps on the Trimetric, you can then hunt down the guilty.
With MPPT you can still take Isc to be sure the panel is aimed right, but the whole MPPT "effect" is so variable wrt "conditions," you can't say for sure what amps you should be seeing.
