The wires I have for array-controller are known to be ok for 12.4a with 13v batt and 200w array and PWM.
Now the same wire needs to be good for 7.7a and 30v (mpp) with 230w and MPPT.
I think that means the wires are twice as fat as they now need to be?
The battery-controller wires that took 12a now need to handle maybe 17a at 13v.
Keeping it KISS...
Convert all the panel volts and amp's to 13v. Size the wire to 13v + amp's for the distance. So what if they are twice as fat as they "need" to be. At least they are not inadequate. Size the controller to batts wire to 13v and the greatest amp's you anticipate. Who know's, you may soon trash MPPT and go back to PWM. Would save you a re-wire.
