wire spade connection on onan starter solenoid

Question

I keep having problems with a spade connection that keeps coming loose. In the past...I've bent it a little, cleaned it up, etc. Still comes loose after a short period of time.

Not a big deal, but I don't enjoy going outside, in the rain, open the compartment door, then remove the genny cover, then wiggle a wire.

Getting ready to solder or glue or something that will make connection better.

Any ideas for better connection?

I'd crimp on a new (better) spade terminal.

I had a similar problem on an old VW.  With the spade connected I drilled a small hole thru them both and stuck a short portion of a paper clip and bent the ends.Never failed again.

GOOGLE"Delco Packard female spade connector". I posted a picture here of one not long ago. I believe larger NAPA stores carry them. They are unique and difficult to manufacture. They also do not come loose unless you want them too. I've crimped over one million small terminals in my lomg life and what I write here comes from the School of Hard Knocks. Engines vibrate and the rules get harsher.

The Mexican wanderer is right, replace the end with the packard, they call it lock tab or something like that and it won't come off.
