Hi All,I have a 2000 Thor Citation M30-U T.T. I need to add 2 12v outlets (cigarette lighter type)to the bedroom. Does anyone have a resource for the wiring diagram for this trailer or any info on where I can tie into 12v wires?

If you have ever seen fifth wheels built you would see that it is nigh impossible to find a 12 volt wire in the wall. I don't think manufactures even supply a wiring diagram that would be helpful in your case.My recommendation would to be to splice into the wires going to a light fixture. Hopefully you can find a light that you can remove and get to the wires so you can splice in and run your new wires hidden under the ceiling or behind wall paneling or cover your wires with a wire cover glued or screwed to the ceiling.I installed some 12 volt plugs in our living area by splicing into some 12 volt wires that supply the refrigertor. I managed to fish the wires up into the wall next to the refrigerator. Turned out real good.

If you can, route your wires from each of the power ports back to your 12V power center and hook into a known fuse. There's nothing worse than hooking into an unknown circuit, then popping the fuse to the fridge... or now you have no heat.I added two power ports , one on each side to the rear storage compartments in our MH so I could run that 7 amp tire compressor. It would pop the 5A circuit breaker in the accessory panel (radio, powerport) on the passenger outside of the MH, and eventually the 7A fuse in it's own plug. These powerports have dust covers, and are routed directly to the fuse panel to a circuit with very little load on it. Sometimes finding a spot for power ports & the associated wiring can be a pain - but keep looking, you'll find something.

I was afraid somebody was going to say that R.R. The water pump is under the bed. Maybe I can tie into that?Bruce - That's why I wanted the wiring diagram. I just bought this trailer and I have no idea where the power center is and the owners manual is of no help.Thanks for your responses guys.

Look for a flip-down door with vents below, similar to this:

if it would be me i would entertain the idea of coming up from the bottom of where you want the new outlets to be and fishing the other end of the wire up from the bottom side of the converter i would use a heavy 12 gauge cord and just cut the plug ends off that way the heavy cord jacket will protect the cord underneath the trailer making sure it is strapped up in some manner i would run a cord to each outlet that way you would have the option of putting them on diffrent fuses if you choose

You know another possibility would be to purchase a small plugin AC to DC convertor and plug it into one of youre existing AC outlets.

no problems . running along existing wiring underneath was the simplest. just had to mount 12 volt outlet in a handy plastic box to make it neat.

This is exactly what I'm trying to accomplish for the exact same purpose except, I need 2 outlets, one for the wife and one for me.

R.R. - The cpap machines are 12v with an AC to DC converter for the house or I can plug directly into DC with a cigarette lighter plug. I've just got to figure out the best way to rout the wires so it looks neat, not like some hatchet job.

Ok. I think I've got this figured out. There are no open spaces on my fuse panel so here's what I'm gonna do.

Most of the wiring runs through the floor and along the frame under the trailer. I splice into the main input lug with a fuse holder and leave that tucked in the fuse panel. Then I run the hot wire through the floor following he existing wires all the way to the back of the trailer and back up through the floor to the night stands on either side of the bed. A ground wire attached to the frame completes the set up.

Finally, I get my skinny little teenaged grandson to wriggle his way inside the storage compartment in the rear to make the electrical connections for me. Wiring is all tucked away nice and neat.
