PD guys just love their PDs! However note that the PD 80 amper needs a 20 amp 120v circuit and tapers early.
Your basic PM4B PowerMax 80amper (or whatever amps it is near that these days) is power factor corrected so it only needs a 15a circuit and it holds its 80 amps constant during bulk while battery voltage rises to 14.6v. None of that nasty tapering the PD does!
They both do Float the same way with a shot of higher voltage every so often to stir the batts from stratifying. AND the PM costs less too!
