Those new to the RV world often have a 73xx in their new rig. They're clueless regarding battery maintenance. Failing to add water for a couple of years, they blame the converter for boiling the battery.
BTW, the 73xx is fine for shore power, but not charging battery from generator. If you do lots of gen charging, then get a 3-stage converter, locating it close to the battery. And if you're going to go through that much work, then get something better than a PD. The PD is a slow charger. You want a fast charge when on the gen.
