Splendide Model #AS66 VS Dryer and Model #AW 122 Washer
Stackables.... used 3 times a week since January 2007.

I broke the belt on the dryer because I washed rubber backed rugs in it.
(I'd done this for many many times... but just once the rug flipped the wrong way and the rug got wedged ... stopped the drum from turning...broke the belt.) I do not put rubber backed rugs in the dryer anymore.

Your water shut off is to just turn off your water pump and shut your water off at the outside source. No need for a water shut off behind the washer.

Front loader washing machines will smell. You have to learn how to deal with the grunge and mold that collects between the washer drum and the rubber gasket between the drum and the door.

2 pairs of Men's size 38 jeans.... and five t-shirts = 1 load
1 queen size micro fiber blanket or top sheet = 1 load
2 LARGE thick cotton bath towels, 2 quick dry towels, 3 hand towels, 6 wash cloths = 1 load

(Go into the automotive aisle and find the thickest and largest quick dry towels you can find... use them first to dry off and then follow with a cotton towel to finish drying.)

Micro fiber materials do not get heavy when they get wet. So when you toss them in the washing machine, they don't weigh the load down. I LOVE the micro fiber sheets, pillow cases and blankets year round. In the winter I put a wool blanket over the top to hold in the heat and an electric blanket in the mix just to heat blankets and the mattress all day long... and then I shut it off when we go to bed. We are in the NW in the winter.

I will NEVER wash my clothes in a laundry mat, if I can help it, ever again.

We had a MH with a Slendide combo unit that worked great. It had a small load capacity so it was run daily. We used those dryer balls and wrinkles were not a problem.

Now we have a Bosch stable (the apartment size) and it is fantastic.

You seem to be considering it intelligently....not overthinking it.

We have the stackable Splendide machines (Ariston model) and they get a good work out. So far, so good. As everyone says, it will take longer than a house machine to dry wet clothes.

Ours has a shut-off under the bathroom sink rather than behind the machines.

Splendide 2100XC vented combo... cheaper than a divorce. Holds more than you think, but have to take out things out (shake out) after wrap speed spin before drying. Hang damp perm press out so no wrinkles. You are correct that a dryer will block the access hole to the back of the unit.

Because of people like newman fulltimer you can buy slightly used units for $500. Here is one near you but needs parts. For that price and the good service from Splendide I'd buy it.

Yeah I was hot for one for Quicksilver, until I found out about two pairs of pants and two winter shirts being almost an overload. Hope they got bigger.

We have the Dometic ventless combo and love it. After month long trip Mar/Apr 2015 from CA to TX and back we bought it and will never use a laundomat again. Takes about 3 hours start to finish. We load it and turn it on an come back later. rvpartscountry.com had it for $745 plus about $135 shipping was best price we found. We still have use of clothes pole to hang shirts etc over it in closet of our 5er vs stackable and no hole in wall for vent.
