Based on a glowing review by the Motorhome magazine, I rushed down to Camping World to buy a 25ft Apex Zero G hose. It was supposed to be safe for potable water use. I got home and followed the directions to flush it for(don't remember, maybe 2 mins.) but I thought what the heck I'll water the garden with it. I flushed the hose for at least 8 minutes with city water.
On our first trip I was hooked up to campground supplied water with the new Zero G hose when I went to draw water out of the faucet and out came this rubbery chemical smelling water just like one would get using a regular garden hose. I gagged and spit the water out, disconnected the hose and sniffed the inside and, sure enough, it smelled like the water coming out of the rv faucet. Fortunately I had my old water hose and used that instead but it took days of use to finally rid the water system of the smell.
Returned the hose to Camping World and wrote a nasty letter to Motor Home magazine for the lousy recommendation.
there didn't happen to be an ad for that hose in the same issue of the magazine that glowingly rated it?
