Do yourself a favour, drain the tank and carb, get a can of Seafoam. Pour about 2 ounces into the tank and open the petcock(on/off switch) and let it sit for a couple days without starting it. Drain the carb again then add some fresh gas. Seafoam will "eat" its way through the carb, dissolve the crud and open up all the little passages. It might smoke a bit on start up, but that will be normal.
