Without question the hot setup in power generation is falling water. Mother nature does all the heavy lifting, except for manufacturing process pollution the energy is the cleanest this planet will ever see, and after doing multiple studies in the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains, I am convinced there is at least 200 gigawatts of potential available without disrupting trout fishing, aesthetics, or anything else. One stream had a near vertical fall of 1,700 ft and a flow of 23cf per second - enough to light a large town.
My opinion is that it is wonderful so much energy and interest is being put into battery innovation. It's hard to tell where this is going to end up but one thing for a fact, the omission of studies into creating affordable better insulation ranks right up there with the biggest blunders of the modern era. Demand every food storage flask be of vacuum design. Create vacuum panel insulation for refrigerators, cars, houses, and all habitations. Glass is the traditional medium, how about vitreous impregnated carbon fibers? Strong, ultra lightweight and flexible.
Offer a 5 billion dollar tax-free reward for the invention of a process that extracts carbon from carbon dioxide, leaving only O2 and carbon ready for carbon fiber manufacture.
