CYBERSPEAK FOR.... We sent a message for the carrier to come and pick up the package we haven't even wrapped yet. And you people wonder why I am grumpy

Yep. Ordered two items a week ago on the 5th. First item delivered to PO same day, lovely carrier dropped by our front door two days later with box in hand. Shipping progress showed every step.
Second item, notification sent to shipper first day (or was it the second?) Estimated arrival date 21st/22nd. No update on status page when checked multiple times a day... item arrived yesterday, delivered by the same lovely carrier. Checked page again - delivered.
No consistency.
We took a trip to Arizona at the first of the year, with the plan to drop into Mexico. We arrived at my brother's place in Arizona... and promptly remembered that we forgot our passports. Our daughter made her way into our safe (with help), and shipped the passports two day certified. Same story as the second item... no updates except the original one. Three days later, they arrived. She got her money back, no questions asked; we were able to delay our Mexico trip by a day.
