zeb vs UV

My Zep coating started to crystalize after being in the Sun for a year. It was hard to get off and required some scrubbing with stripper. I ended up painting it.

Zep makes a remover /stripper ,I had to redo the front cap -eazy pezy

I used the Zep stripper but easy was not part of the job. Had to use it full strength. If the fifth was a floor the stripper could lay for a while and work on the product to soften. I will say again Zep is not for outside.

When the Zep was tired and faded in spots on my trailer this spring I simply scrubbed the whole trailer down with Bar Keepers Friend on a sponge. That seemed to clean it up pretty well.

Once that was done I reapplied the Zep and the trailer looked great again.

I redid mine last year used Zep stripper came off easy washed down and reZepped

I guess my experience was different. Our white has turned to a yellow and because of the color I had to removed the red max completely or It would be white and yellow. My guess is the guys that felt it was an easy job did not need to remove what I had to but if happy is good for the result that is great. I believe all stories are true including mine.

I don't think you will find any wax with substantial measure of UV protection. Having to leave my truck in Mexico for summer, I researched this subject - there is nothing. Waxes that do mention UV, in independent tests show mere 5-6% of UV blocking.

303 Aerospace is the only thing that works for UV, it's not perfect, though no problems to remove - it basically washes away after one rainy summer.

OTH, if the goal is "shining", this is a different matter. I intend keeping my trailer until it matures to 15 years old (at least), and by then shine won't matter much.

The first time I removed ZEP from the front cap using ZEP stripper, it exhausted me for 4 hours. I wet it down, sprayed, rinsed and scrubbed. I built up a few muscles.

Second time I did it differently. Sprayed stripper on the DRY surface, let sit a minute then wipe with a damp rag. Let it dry. Repeated about three time and it was clean. Found if I spray it on and let sit and then spray it on again, the ZEP runs down the side.

Verified that another time. Sprayed then rinsed with a hose and dried the surface before repeating. Very little effort compared to the first time.

ZEP does yellow a bit after a year or 2, but it makes the TC look much better.

I like the TC to look nice so I'll keep using it, it's much cheaper than a new camper.

Yup sprayed it on let it sit for a minute or so rub it off with a damp magic eraser.
Ammonia works as well full strength but a lot slower.
