You know its not a restoration, just a rehabilitation. ;)
Once everything has been inspected, repaired or replaced I hope to do three "up-grades" this coming spring.
First, a Detroit Locker to the rear Dana 60, AC and then a Detroit Truetrac to the front Dana 44.
For me, that dirty old engine is perfect for my needs and wants.
A 390 2v from a 1966 Mercury Monterey. 9.5:1 compression, 275 HP at 4400 rpm and 404 lb/ft of torque at 2600 rpm combined with the 4.10 gears is perfect.
And the Autolite 2100 carburetor is an excellent off-road choice.
Hopefully next week I'll get all my new parts installed. I'm really looking forward to having a light in my glove box. :B
