The chain pocket I used has nothing to do with mounting shock absorbers. It is an item I found in a local farm ranch supply that worked for my application. See this site for what I am taking about
Chain PocketSorry the site I listed calls it a stake pocket. I guess it can also be used for a chain pocket.
