Traded the 2001 3500 8.1 chev for the 05 3500 duramax. Only difference was the rear gear ratio and engine. diesel has the most power for towing our alpenlite but the 8.1 did a fine job. Reason for trading was just because we could I think. After our rving time is over (getting close) I see no reason for having a diesel engine. Maybe another truck is not what our needs will be at that time. Enjoying what we have at this time.
