I have a great respect for diesels because I owned on for a year....ram cimmuns....pulled like nothing I ever expected. But the smell, maintenance, cost of fuel and disappointing mpg helped me decide to go back to gas. Put, I froze all winter....just not for me.
I went to a GM 6.0 which struggled with our 5th wheel, so I went to a Ford v10....same mpg but pulled great.
I know folks love their diesels, but not for me. I know several guys that have 300,000 miles on their diesels, but the rest of the trucks are worn out.....rransmissions, front ends, rear axles, etc. I do not believe theyare worth anything nearbthe extra $5000 that they charge...
