Used tow vehicles

Man. I cannot believe what people are asking for their F250-350 7.3 diesel trucks. Anything south of 150k miles are going for $15,000+ That's nuts.

  • When my parents owned their 05 Duramax during the early DPF equipped trucks era, they would get asked if they wanted to sell their truck. Now that they own a 2016 Duramax with all the emissions equipment they never have been asked if they wanted to sell it.

For our farm/ranch use we only purchase non DPF equipped diesel trucks which as of now consist of (2) 5.9 cummins and (1) 7.3 Power Stroke.
  • Well, when Ford didn’t offer anything worth buying in a diesel pickup for over 10 years after discontinuing the 7.3, that certainly didn’t hurt the 7.3s value!
But if you’ve looked, the “good” pre-tier IV trucks most all seem to hold their value a bit better than they should.
Although later this year, might be a little different story across the board!
  • The late 06 to early 07 Duramax, LBZ I believe, definitely hold their value.
  • Last time we needed a tow vehicle we traded our TT for a used class A because prices for pickups was so high.
  • Is that all? Heh that truck with the 7.3 is in high demand. All used diesels are pricey compared to gassers.
