You can't thrust salesmen. There is no guarantee that they know everything about the tow vehicle. I bought a used truck before I bought my TT. I checked the build sheet of the truck to make sure I knew what it could tow. Then I picked a TT with a weight well below that limit .i felt the responsibility was mine.
