Be aware that the intercooler could pop if you add more boost. It has plastic parts. Other than that use small micron fuel filters to protect the injectors.
The plastic intercooler handles 40 psi just fine.;) I have run standard 7 micro filters for 9 years and have never turned a wrench other than oil and filter changes. I have also been running dirty air through my Cummins from a couple weeks old too (K&N filter).
I guess you are lucky. There is a reason they stopped using them!
Yeah, I here that a lot but can't seen to win the lottery.:h I also use the same 7 micron filter on two 06 Cummins at work. One is well over 200,000 miles and the other is at 150,000. Have never had to turn a wrench on them either.:h My company must be lucky too.....except with their 6.0 Fords.:R
I am a lucky one on my 98 RAM 4X4, original u joints and tie rod ends with380K.
Have a friend with a RAM 01 original lift pump and injection pump and 250K.
Ya just never know.
Bottom line the Cummins is an awesome power plant!
