The key component here or the lack of for the higher resale value is the lack of a DPF.
There are literally people hunting down diesel trucks that came from the factory without a DPF and are willing to pay top dollar for one that's not been trashed and beat up.
They can be idled, don't have CEL's to fight, don't have soot clogging EGR's, and not forced to "drive to clean" or all that stuff.
