Probably emissions related problem.... No big deal the 6.7 cummins guys are very familiar with the CEL's all the time even with less than 5k miles. That's a sad state of affairs. :B
BTW... I guy at work has a 09 6.4PSD with over 200k miles and only replace the idler pulley to date. The truck get driven mostly highway miles which is the reason it's been a reliable truck.
Uh, yeah I had 1 software upgrade done on my Ram to correct a timer issue. I'll take that over the 15+ reflashes I had done to my 2003 F-350 6.0L :R. It needed a reflash more than it needed oil changes.
The guy with the 09 better go buy a lottery ticket. We have only 1 2008 6.4L at the city I work at and it has about 60k kms (40k miles) and has cost the city almost $10k in out of warranty costs and had plenty of issues while on warranty as well. I dread getting behind one that is in regen and smoking like it is on fire because I'm sure the emissions are highly carcinogenic. But that 6.4L has cost less than the one 2006 E-450 6.0L with 60k kms on it that has cost over $32,000 in the past 2 years or so on mechanical repairs so I guess the 6.4L is better than the 6.0L! :W We currently have a new F-550 chassis with a V-10 on order to replace that 2006 6.0L POS.
