After increasing our TW to 13%, to help with how our TT Toy Hauler towed over the rough pavement of I-10, we noticed no improvement..
1) keep the TW the same and decrease the total TT weight, or did you
2) increase the TW and keep the total weight the same, or did you
3) change both the TW and the total TT weight?
If you kept the TW the same, I would not expect to see any change in ride quality.
The heave resonance dynamics of the TV are a function of the front and rear axle loads.
If those loads didn't change, then the dynamics wouldn't change.
If you increased the TW, then the axle loads also would depend on whether you re-adjusted the WDH.
If you want to experiment with TW changes and/or WDH adjustment changes to see if you can improve ride quality, you need to measure the TV's axle loads (or estimate then from fender-height measurements).
It's more likely you can find a relationship between ride quality and axle loads than between ride quality and TW%.
