1000 miles on 2015 Silverado 6.2/8 speed

Just to update. Truck has 2500 trouble free miles now and we just got back from our first trip of the year. It's just a short 50 mile trip each way. Truck towed great, stopped great and seems even quieter when towing. We took the interstate on the way there and cruised at 63 mph pulling 8300lbs. The truck ran in 6th and 7th gear except for 1 or 2 hills when it shifted down to 5th. I would say it spent 90% of the time in 6th. I cleared the DIC when we left and when we pulled in the park it read 11.1 mpg. Cleared it again for the way home and decided to try the secondary route that is 55 mph. Cruising at 57mph except for lower posted areas, it ran in mostly 5/6th gear at right around 2200 rpms and read 10.9 mpg when we arrived at the house. Acceleration is impressive to put it mildly. It's something to get used to hearing it shift so quickly. I don't think I put it over 3-3500rpm's. Non-towing mileage has been 17-18mpg combined. This truck works very well for what we need. I'm very happy with it.
