I replaced most of the antifreeze in my 2001 Cummins dually this last summer, and it seemed to have resulted in a noticeable reduction in operating temperatures. It doesn't seem to get as hot as quickly when pulling a hill, and it seems to cool quicker. Pure seat-of-the-pants measurements of course.
Mine has about 112,000 miles and has had the ball joints replaced some time back. I've not done much else. 2 wheel drive of course. And I also use it for pulling the toyhauler 99% of the time.
Have you relocated your catch bottle?
No, it's never been an issue. Apparently there's very little blowby, I guess. It's in the original position and no problems with excess oil on the outside of the bottle, and no buildup in the radiator. Just lucky I guess. I thought about changing it when I replaced the VP44, but after looking I decided it was fine.
