I can get something for my truck - nearly what I paid for it seven years ago. Why would someone want to shell out the bucks for immediate depreciation and an outrageous sales tax/ registration bill, and deal with smog control issues? Especially since the OP says his truck runs great.
And arguably, something less reliable than his 05.
What you're saying doesn't really make a lot of sense. If you can get nearly what you paid for your truck 7 years ago where is all this depreciation you speak of? If the 05 is still worth big bucks now then keeping it is not going to prevent depreciation from happening.
I believe he's talking about the depreciation on the
new truck as soon as you drive it off the lot. Then there's the higher lic fees..
