Not true AT ALL. There have been countless cases of people getting Covid from someone who was asymptomatic. I really doubt the OP would want to risk his parents getting sick or something even worse because

Yes, I agree with TravelinDog. You are spreading it to other people for several days before you become symptomatic.
I agree with the rest of what you said and I wish you just had left off that part at the end.
Girlfriend got really sick and ended up in the hospital with Covid a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully, she has her own place and we haven't been spending much time together so I haven't gotten it from her,,, yet.
Neighbor fought it for 2 months and died from it. He was 59 and was healthy until he got it.
This thing is just so unpredictable. Some people, most people really, hardly get sick at all and then the next one gets really sick.
