12 V Water Pump Noise

I have a brand new 2015 Puma 23FB.

I have been staying at CG's with FHU's. However, I've made reservations at some CG's without using RV Park Reviews, no Internet connections, and have had to use the pump and my fresh water tank.

It doesn't matter if I have electricity or have to run off the battery, the pump sounds as if someone is hitting the side of the trailer with a hammer.

The pump is under the sink and not jumping when turned on. It is probably the cheapest pump they could get, I believe it's a Sure Flo.

I've notified the factory and will take it in when I get back home, but that won't be for another 45 days.

Suggestions? Options? I'm thinking that maybe it should be replaced with a better, quieter pump.

Thanks.

  • Sounds like you might have some air in the lines. If there is any air pockets trapped my pump will hammer like crazy until I get them out.
  • most noise comes from the hard tubing they use for water lines. you can research on how to reduce the noise levels.
