I installed a new Dometic CR1110 (3.8 cu. ft.), replacing my old Norcold 300.3. These compressor units aren't cheap, but do out proform the absorption units hands down. I have one group27 house battery and a 85 watt solar panel with no problem keeping enought power to it. Going with a unit with the Danfoss compressor through my research is the best way to go, these compressors can be bought through Johnstone Supply. I bench tested the CR1110 before installing it in my Lance815, starting out on the shore power with a OSA of 95 degrees. Inside of the refrigerator was 31 degrees in 5 hours and maintaining that on battery and solar only for the next 5 days. I will never go back to a absorption and the headaces of poor performance. My Dometic works just as well installed as it did during bench testing it, I bought mine through West Marine.
