Too bad none would last even a short trip to the grocery store. Longevity and power don't mix well.

The 5.9 P pump 12V is an amazing engine to put down big power with little $$$.

These diesels can last a lot of miles at high power levels with proper tuning and supporting mods just as long as you don't tow with them at those higher power levels which a lot ignorant people did back in the day. Luckily, most modern tuners shift on the fly fuel mapping and you can go from tow to go with a flip of a switch.

The simplistic answer is the same whether you are hanging off the bottom of the globe or standing on top. When you make power you have to be able to cool it with more air thru the engine, and that is why I never tapped my Edge Comp into my VP-44. With the stock HY35 turbo I had the drive the pyro, not so much with the PDR35-W12, which was a modified HX35-W12. 325/650-700 towed great. Chris

If you had experience with tuners then you would know the answer to this. You are thinking that modern "tuned" diesel have just one fixed power level. Most diesel tuners have various power levels that are shift on the fly for the most part. For example, take my dyno below. I can go from the 390 rwhp tune all the way up to the 513 rwhp tune just by turning my switch to the desired tune while I am driving down the road.

People typically turn these trucks down to the lower power levels when they tow and the upper power levels when they don't. What power level you can tow at will depend on how much you are towing, if you can keep EGT's in check, and how much your transmission can handle if it is built or stock.

Well an IT Guy that works in an Automotive company, with Access to computer graphics ( with appropriate blanked out name of the company)is not the person I asked to answer, but someone with actual experience.?

I am interested in sort of tune someone pulling a 5th wheel ect has done on a Pickup. Horsepower increases?. Not" it was tuned" as an answer what were people pulling with their 500-600hp?
They have " chipped" HD US Pickups here .that pull Caravans 5th Wheelers etc.
