Congrats, and yes it will handle your camper so much better. When you first tow with this new truck you will notice the stability right away. The power is there as well, don't forget you just purchased one of the most reliable GM truck engines ever made. The 6.0 has been a proven workhorse for many years, and with the 6 speed life gets better.
