By the way, several of us tow with the GM 6.0, so ask questions about it freely. I'm sure others will chime in shortly. I have pulled with both gas and deisel, I choose gas. I'm on my second GM 6.0 and would by another if something happened to this one. I just recently had the Blackbear tune done on it and have really enjoyed less TQ management. I mean the truck has always been awesome but it really has stepped up the game now. Mpgs to expect to get... Empty you will get: 13-15 city, and 15-17 hwy. Towing 7.5-9.0. Now all that being said, I just pulled back from Sarasota from this last trip. Pulling my 10k I was getting 9.0 mpgs.... Prior tune the same route and speed68-70 I was getting 8.0-8.5. So very happy to pick up another perk! Otherwise, the 6.0 doesn't need much, extremely reliable... I mean change the fluids, filters and take care of it and you will see 300k easy.
Thanks for the encouraging words. The new silverado 2500 definitely has a more firm and sure footed feel on the road, unloaded at least. My Tundra regularly got 10mpg with the old trailer. This Arctic fox 25r though the same length, stands way taller and is much heavier than the old ultra light. In spite of the bulbous, streamlined fiberglass front cap, the Tundra was getting 8.5 to 9mpg with the Fox. I suppose I'll always covet a diesel but will wait til I win the lottery to get one.
