Overall, it cost me about $30 more to go to the 6v. From y'alls info, I felt there was really no downside to going to 6v. Were have always gone where we have hookups, but this will give me a little extra juice for the resi fridge on long drives, or if we overnight at a Cracker Barrel / Walmart.
You'll probably recover your $30 and the price of new batteries for a two year interval, i.e. the two 6V's will last at least two years longer than a typical hybrid.
FWIW, I have the same GC2 6v's from Sam's Club. They are going on year 6 and are still strong. I keep them charged with solar. Don't be afraid to charge them with over 14.8V. They seem to thrive on a steady diet of higher voltage.
