Congrats!!!
What year Suburban and Can you post pics? I love those things.
Have you thought about what size TT you are going for and what kind of weight distribution hitch?
If your Sub is a 2000-2006 ish Suburban pay attention to the receiver hitch. The factory one wasn't known for strength and some had issues holding together. It's easily solved by a more robust receiver hitch from the likes of Curt and Reese.
Again, congrats!
Thanks!

Well, it's a 2000. It's older than I wanted to go but, here's the story. I found it but cheap. It has a new engine. The lady that owned it let it run out of oil and blew the engine. The dealer put a new engine in it, new brakes and new tires. I got it for the price of the engine so, I just paid cash. The guy across the street from me is a mechanic at a local Chevy dealer and he said it's a great truck and a great deal. The driver's seat leather is brand new. It's been detailed so, before this snow storm it was very clean. Right before the snow started I serviced the differentials and the transfer case. While I was at it I replaced the fuel filter and the PCV valve. It did awesome in the snow and ice. The engine feels very strong and it shifts smoothly. I'm very pleased so far.
We want something in the 26 foot range for a TT. I'll go as long as a 28 and as short as a 24. We want a slide out. I think we will be in the 5500LB weight range for a TT. That's well withing the weight rating. There's just the two of us so, no kids and related stuff. When we towed a trailer in the past I always towed with empty tanks. We have no plans to go really long distances. Maybe we will make it to Disney which is about 9 hours of driving or Sandusky which is about 9 or 10. Everything we do is 3 hours away, Myrtle Beach or the mountains.

I looked at the hitch receiver. Truthfully I have no idea what brand it is but, it sure looks secure. It's mounted to the frame and to the bumper. It could be the Chevrolet receiver and connectors. I'll leave it alone unless it starts to look bad. I can't imagine that will happen. It looks like you could lift the truck with a crane from that receiver. Thanks for the info.
I have always been a Ford guy. This thing just was too good to pass on so, I grabbed it. So far, I like it a lot. The only upgrade that I plan to do is the stereo. The factory Suburban stereo looks like a six speaker, AM/FM/CD/Cassette. But, the sound isn't that great. My wife has a fifth generation Chrysler T&C and that is the standard I'd like to get to. That's an awesome stereo.
