I don't get it, Am I missing something? Who would pay $140K for a regular ole truck?
My Mom used to call that "More money then brains". Or was that what this post was supposed to be about, people that have more money than brains?
Not sure what's not to get. "regular ole" US-style trucks aren't available as OEM over there. I'm guessing $140k is chump change for the wealthiest so they may be quite smart and still have more money than brains. - RobertRyanExplorer

A guy on the truck camper thread from this site a few years ago imported a new chevy diesel and truck camper " Arctic Fox I think " and had the conversion done over there, I think he saved 30-40k over just buying it over there from a dealer.
If I am remembering correctly he had 140k in the rig once done.
Truck Campers are as rare here as they are in the US. US HD Pickups are even rarer. See my post about the Millard Camper in the TC forums - wnjjExplorer II

No they do not use them as work vehicles.
We usedto have the whole range of US Pickups but they have disappeated.

They have to literally rebuild and strengthen them. They also get updates on what has failed from the US and replace those parts.
False, but nice try with the passive aggressive backhanded anti-US post!
They only convert the steering and a few extra lights and decals for compliance on Australian roads. Nothing extra is done to "strengthen" the truck in comparison to the US model. The suspension and other towing/hauling components are identical to the US model per ASV(the company that converts them). Call or email them like I did if you don't believe me. Also, other than parts that may have been damaged during transport, there are no "failed from the US" parts being replaced.
