How much did the Ram cost vs Ford?
I know the F450 is $74500, but I don't remember seeing the Ram's price. That's a better argument over this whole "badge" thing.
In the end, if it took Ford a $74500 truck to beat Ram's $64500 truck, then fail. But if on the other hand, the Ram's $80000, then fail for them.
Myself, I'd get a used Pete 379 or Kenworth W900 long before shelling out 6 figure (Canada) for the pickups.
Truck MSRP for my 13' (same truck as the 14), was $66,780 or somewhere there abouts., but 10,000 was taken off before incentives, rebates etc....ended up around $52K if memory serves me correctly..I have paperwork, will find it if need be.
Highest priced 2014 Ram 3500 DRW CC/LB/ 4X4's with Cummins/Aisin/4:10 at area dealer is sticker priced at $66,760 (this is loaded out Laramie), price before incentive, rebates, or any haggling....most have been getting 10K off as reported on the Cummins forum for the 14's, (as was with the 13's)
Have no idea what a 15' Ford loaded out F450 would cost...
FWIW - the highest price Ram you're going to see will barley break 70k MSRP. With that being said, take 8-9k off MSRP to get to invoice less holdback and then take the monthly incentives. Right now a 70k truck can be had for around 53-54k.
Drove a 3500 DRW Laramie Limited last weekend, sticker $71,650. Drove a Ford 350 DRW Platinum sticker was $69,000 and change. Chevy 3500 LTZ was around $67,000. All were loaded and had 3.73's. Was a good day of test driving.
Leave wherever it was that you were looking at the Ram truck, I haven't seen a Ram, 3500 DRW truck, even in Limited Edition on a lot for that much money..Seen one for 69,000#, it was a Laramie Limited with every bell and whistle one could order, but I haven't seen one that expensive in around this area, (SC, NC, TN..within 50 miles of Asheville area),and again, the one thing I noticed, in and around THIS aread, Ram's are easily discounted 8 to 10K off Sticker...Chevy LTZ and Ford sound about right, BUT, NOBODY pay's sticker....
Well, I am right across the mountain looking in Johnson City. Here is the link to the Ram sticker. It will be the same price no matter which side of the mountain I am on. Here is the Ford sticker. Ford didn't have 5th wheel prep, a few hundred dollar difference. Other than that, equiped about the same.
WOW...glad I didn't get to Johnson City....Got my best deal right here in Asheville at Skyland Automotive...Wonder how much that place comes off sticker? No wonder you own a Ford:)
Around here, Ford's, comparing apples to apples is normally the more expensive... - larry_barnhartExplorerI like it or both of them.

Rick,
Glad you enjoyed the video. :B- ib516Explorer IIHaven't watched the Mr truck videos, but he lost credibility with me when he endorsed the tornado fuel saver thingy. He's a bit low class and comes across as a bit thick.

I think RAM figures they are the only kid on the block with the "MEGA CAB" so take that part out of his MSRP and RAM probably would be less.
Mega's are only $1,000 - $1,200 more than the same level Crew Cab. - TravlingmanExplorer II

I just built a Mega Laramie Limited with EVERY option I could select. $73,635!!!
HOLY CRAP! I'm keeping my 05.
Since you are in Idaho call Dave Smith in Kellog and get a dose of reality on what the rig you specced would actually cost.
I'm not shopping, and have bought from Dave Smith before so I know the deal... Still MSRP has gotten a little out of control!!
Again, around this area, MSRP on Ford is higher, than Ram and Chevy go back and forth for 2nd./3rd in price...Been like that since I started looking at other trucks than Chevy, other being Ford until 2010....Dodge/Ram/Chevy were alway's cheaper than like Ford brand/model truck..

Same thing up here... for comparable equipped trucks, Ford and GM respectively $12,000.00 to $9,000.00 higher then Ram... another reason why I bought Dodge/Ram trucks, as no real difference in any of the 3 as far as capability goes,(at least in the late model years) other then price difference.
