....if you think those rocks caught between those treads are big, I'll make a photo of the 1/2 to 3/4 golfball-sized rocks we get caught in the treads of our Goodyear Duratrac tires !
I always extract the rocks from our Duratrac tires on exiting gravel roads (we live on a gravel road; I use needle-nosed pliers), because if those things hit the under-wheel wells, they will take the paint right off as effectively as a pellet gun. Or, go through someone's windshield...:E
