19.5 245/70r load range G tire brand suggestions

I have PM a few members here regarding upgrading to 19.5 wheels and tires regarding Dodge trucks and a big thanks to all who have responded. Before purchasing the 19.5 vision wheels would like to get opinions on 19.5 245/70r load range G tire brands. have some good deals on Hercules and Dyna trac. Also a local shop here in Dallas area sells and services 19.5 tires. They carry Doublecoin, Hercules, and Falken. Also would like to learn more regarding open or steer types and bead balancing.

At the beginning of winter, I had a set of 245/70R19.5 Michelin XDS2 tires installed on one of my F-550 trucks at work. I was very impressed with their poor traction performance. I was driving it in about 6" of snow, and came up on a stuck F-350 with the OEM tires. We chained up the F-350, and made it to the turn around, I walked back to my truck with the Michelins, and drove right through. I was really impressed, the best 19.5 traction I have seen. I drive F-Series trucks with several 19.5 tire brands on a regular basis.

As a trade off, I did notice some tread squirm at freeway speeds.

After a month, they still look like new, but it probably only gets driven 150 miles a week. The truck weighs about 16,000, 24/7/365.
  • I just put Triangle TR689 225/70 (14ply) on my dually with 6 aluminum Vision 181's and so far so good. Not even 1000 miles yet and have not had the camper loaded yet either. I'll get some pics up asap.
  • I used Hankook DH-01 245/70 G drive tires on my SRW Ford 350 with Visions for over 7 years. I currently have Hankook 225/70 F drive tires on my Ford F450. I tried conventional and Equal, but didn't have a favorite with my SRW. I'm using Equal now with the F450. I find much over 80 psi makes the fronts track more.

I put a set of Hercules on my 99 F550 dually last year. I went with all steers. Truck weighs about 9000lbs and caribou weighs in loaded at 5000 lbs. About 10000 miles on them and they look brand new. I'm pleased.
Replaced a worn out set of 225 Michelens.
I did see a small drop in milage. don't know if that is related to taller tire or not. Not a big difference.
Overall I like the tire. $1100 for the set of 6.
