Great project and should look great when done but what are you using for a front suspension, our friends that we just left have a 53 F100 and he used a Plymouth Volarie suspension up front. By looking at your frame I can't tell what you are going to use. The stock straight axle and steering box would be my last choice. You are building this to pull a trailer so I would build the frame and suspension with that in mind, I would use a later model gear end out of a heavier truck with 8 bolt wheels, you would have to have it narrowed but you would already have disk brakes. For the front I would look into a truck independent suspension you could graft into it, again with 8 bolt wheels. You don't have to stay with Ford because the 2WD I Beams would be to wide and you can't narrow them. Look at getting the front complete frame from a latter model GM PU, you may also consider using the GM rear end so all the wheel bolts are the same plus you won't have to buy the expensive after market disk brake setup.
