Today - Roof edge epoxy repairs.
Okay, so yeah, lots of (boring) photos today. This is a necessary evil, the epoxy is dark gray the aluminum is light gray and white paint and black roof repair, whatever. The sunlight is blotchy and shaded. Difficult subject matter and even worse lighting conditions. These won't win any photo contests.
Let's see which might be the most interesting, and then we'll get back to some fun stuff.
This first batch was shot way back on 6/11.
Here he sits; the scaffolding in play elsewhere. All ladder work now.

The right side, lower roof curve. It was the other side which had the big gap and the liquid nails, this side was okay in that regard.

Here's a nicely forming left side repair. Note the epoxy sunken into the drill hole. That's the reason for multiple applications, with sanding and forming in between.

Here too.

Sanded first or second application.

Here's one with the wax paper kind of embedded. DW and I reuse, recycle, use up, do without. In this case the wax paper was a boxed cereal thing and not the right kind. It kinda got embedded. I consider that like a fiberglass mat. You'll see more of these adaptations. But, it keeps the epoxy from running out!

Here's that left side bad-boy.

None on here yet, that's just wire brush tarnish. There are some small epoxy spots on the corner edge if you look close, to get the trim up sooner.

The damage above the right tail-light

Some of the more difficult spots, multi-application.

Here's our problem child after pulling off the wax paper (that one removed very easy). These were shot 6/19.

And sanded.

And a bit of digging, get the thin layer out, make sure the holes are really filled. Multi applications.

Another larger spot.

Then sanded.

Here again, cereal box wax paper. 6/20.

Here's that shot, but before putting on the wax paper.

And wax paper removal.

So I just kept doing that until I was satisfied. And that happened on about 6/21.
I half wonder if this one got one more treatment. I didn't take pictures every time I did it, but these are at least toward the end of the process. It was MUCH more involved, as I recall, than what I did on Lil' Queeny.

This finished up stuff well enough to start getting trim back up. Maybe I'll start that tomorrow.
I'll mention again, this is an un-proven solution. It may well not work. Or it might. Either way, there are always next things to try. As westend has said, it might be Eternabond tape will be needed in the end, and that may be the ace up my sleeve, but until then, we'll just play poker.
