The original camper propane setup consisted of a 20lb (5 gallon) horizontal (laying on it's side) tank at the left front corner of the camper, above the wing, and below the icebox.

The camper came with no tank, and replacement horizontals are expensive! Plus you still only have one small tank, not exactly optimal for boon-docking or simple off-the-grid freedom.

Additionally, the tank location wouldn't work for our desires of a larger cubic foot refrigerator. Therefore the propane compartment had to be relocated.

Still, the original location required the access door to remain because the siding was already cut open there, and I needed it for the lower fridge vent anyway.

I had a double vertical tank access door from our parts camper to use, and a location in mind at the right rear corner of the camper for two 20lb vertical tanks. I just needed to re-size the access door to fit the spot (physically, structurally and aesthetically).

We'll start off with that tomorrow.
