For a number of days now I've been working on the fridge cabinet/outside storage compartment. Part of this has been to set up the fridge for it's installation (Galley & Greatroom), some was to build (Structure & New Wood), and some to apply finish, both in the form of primer/paint or stain/poly. All the small pieces and tight quarters and multiple coats of coverage take some time. So in between drying times I worked on things like the camper corners.
But I have reached enough of a stage of completion in the fridge cabinet that I can move forward on it. Next is to make some sort of a partition wall along the right side of the fridge. As stated before somewhere, tight fridge clearances on the sides and back are to provide a proper convective air flow for the back condenser coils and propane chimney flue, ensuring efficient operation of the refrigerator.
But such a wall will give me about a 3" deep space on the right side of the fridge - a space I don't want to lose if I can make storage out of it. At any rate, I applied paint to those surfaces so that when I build and install a sort of modular false wall, the narrow and tall storage area will already be finished, just as with the lower boards. I'll discuss that further, but I should be able to get an ax and a small shovel in there.
You'll also notice how we back-pedaled again from the interior space "whites" and have painted that cabinet the lodge-room green. To our eye it just looks better, more finished perhaps, less stark, and fits the overall design we are trying to achieve, which is a little mountain cabin on wheels.
In these pictures pay attention to the double duty going on everywhere; not just a cabinet to house a fridge, but trying to recoup extra cubic inches for effective storage. Like the covered wire/utility channel in the bottom. But for now, it's just finishes!

And while were still on Finishes & Finishing, I stapled the trim backing strip onto the dinette area wall repair. I'll show, within a couple days, how I strengthened and prepared that structural area first.
