I am soliciting input on a couple of fresh water issues here. What do you think about these things?
1-Because of my extremely limited space in an area for a logical fresh water gravity feed hose, I am considering NOT having a gravity feed. Why can't one just have a city water hook-up, with a plumbed piece directly to the fresh water tank, operated by a simple valve. When you need to fill the tank, you open the valve, to a level that controls the flow at a slow enough rate, and manually watch the tank fill, but having the half inch line for overfill connected and operating. Then when it's full, or to the level you want, simply close the valve and go on with life. No 1.25" fill hose, no 1/4" per foot slope, no gravity fill hatch on the side of the camper? What would be wrong with that? The key to success would be to have the valve reduce flow enough so that in an emergency situation the overflow hose can keep things in balance.
2-Does anybody know of a product that is simply a city water fill BEHIND a locking hatch? The only locking hatches I can find include the gravity fill portion.
