Dave , as I stated I am not a plumber and certainly no expert . The Anderson device did say that it had a vacuum breaker in addition to a check valve so incorporating a vacuum breaker in your line may suffice. The one aspect I didn't care for with the Anderson is that it is all at the exterior wall and subject to freezing . On my camper the check valve is 8" in from the wall , similar to a freeze proof hose bib.
