1971 Aladdin Car-Pet

I recently purchased a 1971 Aladdin Trailer that is in perfect condition. Took it out a few times already and it is awesome! Only thing is there is no grey water tank. I went to Ace hardware and bought a gutter extension that diverts water away from gutters. Works great however I was told dumping grey water is illegal? All it is is the water from sink and shower. Maybe I will just dump it into a bucket next time. Forest service was out as well and they never said anything??

  • Welcome to the forum and congrats on your Aladdin.

Check Tin Can Tourists, it's a site for vintage TT's. Maybe someone can give you advice on your situation.

Post some pics when you get a chance. We would like to see your TT.

    Enjoy your travels.
  • I used to have a 1968 pick up camper that didn't have a grey water tank, did (it was just the sink, no shower). Camping world or somebody was selling one of those collapsible 5 gallon water jugs with a lid that had a threaded fitting for a garden hose.I hooked up one end of a short garden hose to the grey water fitting on the camper, and the other end to the fitting on the water jug, the packaging stated that it met requirements for gray water storage. Of course it only held 5 gallons, but I used it in Olympic National Park without any problems.
  • So many campsites, national parks and such are being "loved to death" by the quantity of people coming to visit.

So yes, in most places dumping gray water onto or next to your campsite is prohibited. Please help keep these areas open to all by figuring out a way to comply.
