1982 Coachmen 15' rebuild

Hello, everyone.

I picked up a 1982 Coachmen TT , not sure of the model yet but after researching the web,

***EDITED TO ADD ***
After talking to the Coachmen Factory rep via telephone, the VIN revealed it was a Model 662 and designated as just a 15' Travel Trailer.
There are no SD or FG floorplan designations with this one.
Just 15' Travel Trailer.

The floor plan has
* Sofa / Slide bed along front wall next to door
* Galley along entry wall
* Closet / Toilet then Fridge and Furnace Stack after it on back wall
* Dinnette / Bed along rear wall with small storage.

Here is a rough sketch of how its laid out:

If anyone has an idea what the SD would mean, post a comment letting me know.

Thanks for checking the thread out.

More photos to come.

  • my first camper was a 1991 prowler 19E. served me well, loved that thing. cost me less than 1050 Canadian dollars to camp in it for 4 seasons. That's what I call value.
  • I have a 15 foot Prowler that is similar layout but reversed, dinette in the front and couch/bed in the rear.
Will be selling soon, as my family outgrew it (me, my wife and 3 kids!)
    Was a fun little camper!
    Good luck with your project!
  • Back in the day we had a 1991 Prowler 15 footer. Man we had some good trips in that camper. I don't miss it because it would be too small for us now. But, for that time it was a great camper.
  • I restored a 19' Starcraft. The link is in my signature line. Photobucket has captured my pics and is ransoming them. Images can be sent on demand.

You will need to either move the waste tank or keep the toilet close to its present location. I moved mine about three feet, the limit to use the same tank location.

Good luck with the restoration. Make crude layout plans and schedule the work involved. Even a simple plan is better than no plan.
  • Maybe it's just my eyes or the monitor...but did you use a fish-eye type exposure for some of the pics? I ask because there are a few where the floor looks decidedly bowed downward. I figure it is a fish-eye exposure because the stove and fridge both have the same bent look in the pics.

Good luck on the rebuild! If I had the space to do it, I'd love to do the same thing.

SD = Super Deluxe? Cool looking TT.

Thanks Tyler0215, Coachmen called me today, and gave me the Model info.
    It is a 662 ( 15' Travel Trailer )

    Not the M-15
    no SD = Side Dinette
    No FG = Front Galley

I updated first post to reflect the info.
  • and where I am at on the ceiling demo.

    * about me:

I am 6'7" 325 lbs, so I will be making this a custom floorplan for my size...
which means the toilet closet has to go or relocate because I cant fit.
    :B

Not really into the dinette / Bed setup, was thinking of a nice sofa that made into a larger bed but getting it thru the door is going to take a miracle.

thinking of taking stove and sink out to make more room down the side for bed.

would like to move toilet to front corner and widen a bit, maybe add a sink in there too.

any suggestions or comments are welcome!
