1999 Alpenlite Durango 10

You don't say what year, but sounds like a steal. I have no experience with the brand, but would probably grab my check book in a hurry!

Thanks for quick replies. One issue is I would need a longer superhitch extension (current one is good 9.5' camper) to pull a horse trailer and it weighs 3200lbs dry. I have a 2002 f350 srw and would likely need airbags to travel safley.

They were very well built. I didn't like the dark interior, but assuming you do, seems like a good deal. As usual, look for leaks in the cabinets, etc.

does anyone know if these were made with aluminum frames?

Never seen an Alpenlite with anything but. Alpenlite was always a primeir builder of super quality RVs. But, dont let the name fool you. That thing will very likely exceed your trucks capacity long before you hitch the horse trailer on.

There are anything but lite. When I worked at an RV lot after retirement the joke was always when an Alpenlite came in was here comes another Alpenheavy. They were always very heavy for their size, this includes their 5th wheels. I looked very hard at one of their 5th wheels and even went to the factory in Yakama, WA were they were built to look at the construction.

I have no doubt that your F250 is going to be very overloaded without the hitch weight of your trailer added to the rear of the truck.

Loved our Alpenlite 5er...had double the storage of a rig 4 feet shorter. They, from what I've seen and experienced, we well built

ok I think I will keep looking, while it sounds nice it seems will be too heavy to comfortably haul AND tow a horse trailer. :( I will look for a lance 8.5 to 9.5 which seem to come in under 2200 dry. would make a good flip though since it seems the prices is very good. ;-)
