I owned the Jayflight 19RD. Paid $14,734 out the door loaded for a new 2012. Main complaint I had was metal siding. We camped in all kinds of weather. When towing in a head on rain storm it leaked in front and would soak bedding. Don't think it is just Jayco though. The water appeared to be blowing upward and coming through the seams of the siding. If it was sitting still it would not leak.
The siding doesn't leak. There's no way for the rain to get up there and past, the interior wall. I've have driven in 60 mph winds in thunderstorms with the Jay Flights. Our area has some of the worse in the country. A few of the storms I was in even produced a few tornadoes. No leaks.
What you had unfortunately was a bad seal. This is common as the unit doesn't leak until rain is forced into the bad seal by driving in a storm. A simple pressure leak test would had shown this immediately, where the seal could had been fixed.
I guess it doesn't matter as you needed a larger camper anyhow.
