1st oil change = bath

So my question to those that have do their own oil changes, what do you do to lessen the mess? Different drain plug/valve? Is the oil filter getting covered after loosening it just part of doing the process? I don't mind getting dirty, but don't recall getting or making this much of a mess in quite sometime.

I say try doing this on your RAM cummins filter! Removing an oil filter on a RAM '13-'15 is a royal pain in the arse to remove and having to wipe the oil off the suspension.

Try prefilling that filter and install it on your cummins too! :W

Try punching the filter to drain the oil. You can either do this or just unscrew the filter until oil starts draining around it until it stops. I change my oil on my 6.7 PSD using two oil pans (1 for the engine sump and 2nd for the oil filter) and not get a drop of oil on the ground. I don't have one but horizontal drain plug makes for a great application of the fumoto drain plug that many use with no issues.
